You've got to spend money to make money. You can't show up for an office job wearing a T-shirt and shorts. No way.
You might need to pay for parking. You might have to pay professional fees or annual union dues. To help launch your career and get you off on the right foot, the Emancipation covers some job-related expenses. EP will pay for:
- Computers, printers, software. (the Program is not funding
this effective March 2004.)
- Computer Training. Take one-day workshops in Windows, Excel, Word, or Access.

- Tuition for Training (see Education section).
- Uniforms, tools, union dues, professional fees.
- Transportation. If you're already employed or still looking for a job, get assistance for parking and local transportation.
Who is Eligible:
- All ILP eligible youth seeking work or currently working.
How to Apply for Service:
- Contact your CSW or DPO and Transition Coordinator with specific, documented requests that verify educational, vocational, or employment-related need for services or equipment.
- Provide receipts and written cost estimates upon request.
